In-Person Line Dance Courses
Take your passion for line dancing to the next level with our in-person Instructor Training Course. Designed for dedicated line dancers who want to inspire and lead others, this hands-on programme provides expert guidance, practical teaching experience, and professional development in a supportive environment.
Upon successful completion, you will earn your ELD Level 1 & 2 Instructor Certification, giving you the confidence and credentials to teach classes and grow within the line dance community. As part of the course cost you will also receive an official course handbook and 1 year’s FREE ELD Basic Membership (RRP £60 / $112)
*Please note that this course is not designed to teach dancers how to line dance, attendees must be a competent line dancer and have experience of dancing at an improver level.

What you will Learn
ELD Level 1 Syllabus
• Preparation for Running a Class – Part A
Covering the legalities and administrative side of setting up your line dance class, including Insurance, Music Licensing, Risk Assessments, GDPR, Safeguarding and Marketing.
• Preparation for Running a Class – Part B
Equipment and Health & Safety — what do you need and how do you use it?
• Teaching a Class
How to teach your line dance class including teaching methods, class format, adapting your class, contraindications in dancers and basic body mechanics.
• Basic Line Dance Knowledge
How to break down line dance steps, read a step sheet, understand types of music, BPM and different styles of line dance rhythm.
• Dance Floor Etiquette
Level 1 Assessment
• Instructors will be assessed teaching one of our approved dances, including counting in and calling the dance to approved music.
• Q&A Session.
ELD Level 2 Syllabus
• Preparation for Running an Improver Class
Including further equipment guidance, injury prevention and body mechanics.
• Teaching an Improver Level Class
Including how to teach mixed ability classes, breaking down more complicated steps, tags & restarts, adapting dances to suit dancers and step mnemonics.
• Musicality
Further understanding of different types of music and line dance rhythm.
• Basic Partner Dance
Including how to teach a basic partner dance and an introduction to contra line dancing.
• Social Events
Planning, preparation and running social events on the day.
Level 2 Assessment
• Instructors will be assessed teaching one of our approved dances, including counting in and calling the dance to approved music and adapting the dance to remove turns.
• Q&A Session.
