History

The Everything Line Dance Association Ltd (ELD Association) was formed by Billy Curtis in 2022. Working in the line dance and country music industries for over 30 years he had noticed that there was a real lack of support and direction for line dance instructors, nowhere that provided them with industry specific advice concerning the running of safe and legally compliant classes. Whilst his main company Everything Line Dance, is intended to be just that, for everything line dance; holidays, dance scripts, class information a place for instructors, dancers and musicians to advertise, there were very few places focusing specifically on supporting instructors run their classes.

Throughout the 2020/2021 lockdowns, he had successfully set up and managed the Line Dance Support Group on Facebook, translating the ever-changing government advice on running a line dance class during a pandemic and offering instructors somewhere to reach out and ask for help and guidance. With the easing of restrictions, he decided that this would become something more formal, and the ELD Association was created. It is intended that the Association can be a ‘one-stop shop’ for a line dance instructor where they have access to everything they need to run their classes and social events.

The Association team spent nearly a year contacting insurance brokers and underwriters, negotiating the best possible public liability for instructors, including covering their social events. We have templates for Risk Assessments, are in contact with PPL with the aim of being able to provide PPL licenses and we are currently formulating an instructor training course.

As a non-profit organization, our aim is to put everything back into the company and continue to advance, improve and build upon industry standards.
